Friday Faves

Friday Faves

This post took longer to write due to a VERY busy week of me getting through orders for y'all before I head to Marfa, Texas next Wednesday!! My idea of time is way off because I totally thought I had two weeks still to get everything I needed to do before the trip. This will be my first time going to west Texas and my first time in Marfa. Since moving to Texas in 2014, traveling to El Cosmico has been high on my bucket list and now I am going and not just for vacation. I am headed there to teach a WORKSHOP FOR MINX AND WILD. Pinch me please. This is HUGE for me because it's not only at a super awesome hotel but it's also during their Trans-Pecos Festival which brings hundreds of people from all over.  I currently have almost half of my spots filled and it's still a week out so I expect to sell out.

I'm driving out with a friend and we plan on camping on the grounds and exploring the area on the days I'm not teaching. I'm hoping to go to Big Bend and take a photo in front of the iconic Prada Marfa store. I will be posting on instagram so make sure you follow me! I will also try to do a live stream of my class while it's taking place.

Since I'll be traveling next week and becoming #DesertJo there won't be a Friday Faves next week, but I wanted to remind all of you that next Saturday is the first New Moon (and the day of my class) after the Autumn Equinox which takes place THIS MONDAY, 9/23. It also starts Libra season which is MY SEASON. Finally. Time for some beauty, love, magic, and justice.

Current fave book: Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens, this book is going to be one those books that will stay with me forever. It is so poignant and magical. My favorite line is, "She hesitated; touching someone meant giving part of herself away, a piece she never got back." When I read this it felt like someone peered into my mind and understood my resistance to relationships. That could be it's own blog post, but I want to convey how much this book means to me. I went into with no information on the plot or what to expect other than everyone seems to love it.

Current fave crystal: Opalite, because of its ability to clear any blockages through the chakras and how it connects you to the spirit world. It's great for meditation because it opens up any communication blockages you might be experiencing. It can also amp up sexual energy.

Current fave clothing: This Hand-dyed Hoodie from Freerainsply. I am definitely bringing this with me to Marfa.

Current fave song: Hug of Thunder by Broken Social Scene

Make sure to check in on instagram with me for my adventures in Marfa! Also, I will be set up at Roots Coffeehouse tomorrow, 9/21 for their 7th Annual Shop Local event! I'll have some new pieces available for you to shop!
